Council’s Choice Award – NMA

Councils Choice Award was presented by Mayor Linda Thompson, Deuty Mayor Jeff Gilmer, Councilor Jeff Lees, Councilor Dave Turck, Councilor Greg Burns, Councilor Rick Austin and Councilor Mary Lou Ellis to Northumberland Manufacturers’ Association. Beside Mayor Thompson are Pat Jossinet & Charlene Smith
2012 Business Excellence Award Councils Choice Award went to the Northumberland Manufacturers’ Association. Below are excerpts from Mayor Linda Thompson’s presentation comments:
“The purpose of the NMA is to promote continuous improvement, innovation, and high performance within the manufacturing sector of Northumberland County through Networking, Education and Advocacy.
The NMA hosted a variety of events and networking opportunities including funding forums, Speaker Series, and the Annual Conference which has developed into a Tri Association Conference in collaboration with the Quinte Manufacturers Association and the Kawartha Manufacturing Association bringing internationally renowned speakers and educational opportunities to local industry.
The NMA continues to work collaboratively having a positive impact on local industry as they take lead roles such as taking a lead role on:
- The Energy Coalition, working with organizations across the province to address high energy costs.
- The Tri-Association Manufacturers Initiative providing 50% training dollar reimbursement and Intern/Displaced workers. NMA members were reimbursed over $250,000 dollars and 81 new hires were made possible.
The NMA continues to be a strategic partner in numerous local economic development projects including IDEAHUB, Workforce Gap Analysis and Innovation Durham Northumberland providing local access to research, innovation and educational support tools to local industry and business.”
Chamber’s Choice Award – CpK Interior Products

Chambers Choice Award was presented by the Port Hope & District Chamber of Commerce Cathy Moor. Receiving this award is Pat Jossinet (middle). Pat is also a director of the NMA.
CpK Interior Products Port Hope, manufactures automotive interior trim for local and international distribution to the automotive industry. As a tier two supplier we provide the following products to our customer – Chrysler Corporation.

Excellence in Manufacturing – UniTrak

Excellence in Manufacturing Award was presented to Unitrak (from left) Deputy Mayor Jeff Gilmer and Director of Economic Development (and Director of the NMA) Judy Selvig to Marie Lytle and Bill Gorsline both from UniTrak.
