2nd Annual High Performance Manufacturing Conference

The Northumberland Manufacturers’ Association and Northumberland County Economic Development are pleased to announce that the 2nd Annual High Performance Manufacturing Conference:  Driving Success Through Innovation will take place on November 15 – 16, 2006 at the Best Western Cobourg Inn and Convention Centre.

The conference will feature several interactive sessions – workshops, demonstrations, and panel discussions – by leading companies such as La-Z-Boy, Nestle Waters, Blommer Chocolate, ESCO, and Weetabix.

Keynote speakers will include: the Honourable Sandra Pupatello, Minister of Economic Development and Trade; Mr. Art Church, President and CEO of Mancor Industries; and Dr. Robert S. Goldsmith, Associate Global Medical Director of General Electric.

“We are excited to have such an incredible line-up this year,” said Steve Rosa, NMA president.  “By moving to a two-day format, we are able to address many significant issues facing manufacturers today.”

The first day of the conference will cover technical aspects of High Performance Manufacturing such as Key Performance Indicators, Mass Production and Flow, and Leader Standard Work.  The second day, broader in scope, will focus on ways in which companies can build economic and social capacity within their organizations.  Specific topics will include: Research and Development, International trade, and Pandemic Planning.

“The conference is an excellent opportunity for local manufacturers to not only learn new information, but also to network with their peers,” said Mr. Rosa.  “We hope that all manufacturers within the region will join us for this innovative event.”
